It is almost Christmas and all through the Club there was excitement that Santa would leave presents at our annual Christmas party at Easts Leagues Club. Along with the feast and the “Secret Santa”, our President had plotted to recognise a former member and the wife of another member by awarding them Honourary memberships.
Anton Brown had been a member for 26 years before deciding to throw in the badge and dinner badge. Anton had been a key member of the troops at every function quietly cooking the sausages, onions and eggs at every BBQ, bumping in bumping out, arranging guest speakers at the club and acting as our club providor arranging snacks for each meeting.
Leanne Cowan has stood shoulder to shoulder with her husband Shane whenever requested to lend a hand and has done this without grumbling ( well a little bit of grumbling particularly at Shane) on many occassions too many to name.
Both embody the essence of a Rotarian and we are proud to have them as Honourary members.
