Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Association Wheel and Walk fund raiser

Spina bifida is a disabling birth defect that affects the development of the spine and spinal cord. Hydrocephalus results from blockage of the flow of cerebrospinal fluid through its natural pathways. The blockage causes an increase in pressure on the brain that may result in nerve damage. The Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Queensland is a connecting point for information and services specific to spina bifida and hydrocephalus in Queensland.

Each year they raise funds to continue to provide the services to their patients and their families and our Club has assisted with providing marshals for the event.

At 7.00am  on 25th July 2021 6 of us braved the winds and the wilds of St Lucia to marshal and direct the competitiors. Some got into the spirit of just having fun like the Ninja Turtles below and others were serious about picking up some of the fabulous prizes on offer.

We have been supporters of SBH for many years and this year we donated $500.00 to this event.
